Running Club packages announced for 2017 Limassol Marathon
Limassol Marathon’s organisers have created a range of discounts and packages to encourage running clubs to enter next year’s edition of the race, set for March 19, 2017.
Participants can expect a 50 per cent discount on the race registration fee and exclusive group packages that include accommodation and race day support.
The packages can be booked for any length of stay and are designed to provide a hassle-free and high quality race experience for athletes and their families.
The packages include: discounted race registration fee; low accommodation rates; transportation to the start line; and an official Limassol Marathon shirt and race packs delivered to the hotel on arrival. All packages can be booked via Limassol Marathon’s official website.
Running clubs can also expect to enjoy additional features such as an exclusive meeting spot before the race, a running club flag on race day, a featured article about their club online, and the option for all running club members to stay at the same hotel if desired.
NEW ADDITIONS FOR 2017
As part of their #weadvance campaign, Limassol Marathon is expected to have some major changes for the 2017 race which will be of interest to running clubs with more experienced athletes.
The winners’ cash prizes have not only been increased for both the Marathon and Half Marathon, but will be doubled if the current course record is broken. This brings the maximum possible Marathon winnings to 4,000 euros for both men and women, and the maximum possible Half Marathon winnings to 2,000 euros.
Running clubs will also welcome the news that the male and female winners in the six age categories (18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60-69 years old and 70+) in the Marathon, Half Marathon, Petrolina 10Km Energy Race and 5Km City Race will receive a trophy.
“We have always wanted to welcome more running clubs to Limassol Marathon and for 2017 we are delighted to be able to do so, through carefully created packages and reduced fees to make it both easy and viable,” stated Andreas Spyrou, Race Director at Limassol Marathon GSO.
“Limassol is an ideal location for running clubs as it offers a complete range of race distances, so members of a differing ability can enjoy the friendly welcome and superb atmosphere of race day,” added Spyrou.
“It is also a great social, training and race experience for club runners who can look forward to a shared goal and rewarding weekend away. We are always here to help with planning for clubs wishing to #RunLimassol.”
