Pafos Tourism Board has welcomed Cobalt Air’s ticket sales launch today (April 5, 2017) for its new flight route between Pafos and Athens, Greece – due to officially begin on April 30.
Cobalt Air will operate the route three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
“This positive development comes at a critical time for the region’s economy and gives it an added impetus and perspective,” read an official Pafos Tourism Board statement.
“The new flights for Pafos, and Cobalt’s beginning here, creates great possibilities to cover other [route] gaps.”
The Pafos-Athens route was previously operated by Ryanair.
Pafos Tourism Board announced that a meeting will occur today between Cobalt Air management and Pafos tourism industry stakeholders to explore further joint business opportunities and promotions.
“We welcome Cobalt Air to Pafos and promise that through a collective effort we’ll do everything possible for a very successful presence here,” continued the Pafos Tourism Board statement.
“Our objectives is to penetrate into new destinations, grow arrivals and continue to upgrade Pafos International Airport with significant year-round activity.”
