CTO “congratulates” 2017 Cyprus Amateur Men’s Open winners
The 2017 Cyprus Amateur Men’s Open concluded on May 21 at Aphrodite Hills Golf Club with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation offering its congratulations to this year’s winners.
In a tweet, the CTO said: “The Cyprus Tourism Organisation congratulates all winners of the Cyprus Amateur Men’s Open Golf Championship 2017.”

Jj Micallef from Malta was this year’s winner with a +9-over-par score, followed by the UK’s Andrew Halifax and Germany’s Marcus Toennessen, both with a +10-over-par score, completing the top three.
Cyprus’ highest ranking individual was seventh-placed Christopher Kalpakas with a +23-over-par score.
The Open is a counting event for World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
2017’s edition was once again organised by the Cyprus Golf Federation under a Stroke Play format over 54 holes, between May 19 to 21.

The player with the lowest gross score over 54 holes was crowned the 2017 Cyprus Amateur Men’s Open champion.
Entries were accepted from gentlemen players who qualified under the current R&A amateur golf status rules, holding a current handicap under the system adopted by the recognised authority controlling golf from their respective country.
