The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) will be showcasing a new look stand at this year’s World Travel Market (WTM), highlighting the variety of its tourism offering, including culture, agrotourism and maritime experiences.
Set to take place from November 2 to 4, 2015 at London’s ExCeL, 53 companies will be represented at the 330m2 CTO pavilion where visitors can learn more about the island’s tourism industry while enjoying some traditional Cypriot hospitality.
Cyprus Tourism Minister, Yiorgos Lakkotrypis will also be joined by Annita Demetriades, deputy director general at CTO on the island’s pavilion.
Among the Cypriot delegation exhibiting will be the Cyprus Agrotourism Company which will provide information on the island’s rural tourism industry, while Accessible Cyprus Travel will aims to provide everything that travellers with reduced mobility might require, including accessible hotel accommodation and transportation, plus accessible city tours, restaurants, shopping and adapted van rentals.
In another development, the CTO is to be recognised during this year’s WTM for its sustainable tourism development efforts as it is among the finalists for an award at the World Responsible Tourism Awards, which will be held during the exhibition.
According to the CTO, up until the end of September, total arrivals to Cyprus for 2015 show a 7.4 per cent increase while the corresponding increase for the UK market is 18.7 per cent. Additionally, early indications for both winter 2015/16 and summer 2016 are reportedly positive.
