Edelweiss to introduce Zurich-Pafos flights, Larnaka increase
Swiss leisure travel airline, Edelweiss, will add Pafos to its 2018 Summer timetable, while also announcing that it will be increasing its frequency between Zurich and Larnaka.
Departing from Zurich, the Pafos flights are scheduled to operate once weekly from April to October 2018.
Flights between Zurich and Larnaka are set to be increased from seven to eight weekly.
With its Summer 2018 expansion, the Swiss carrier plans to increase its route network by more than 20 per cent.
This expansion will translate into 11 new holiday destinations, including Pafos, and will cover short-, medium- and long-haul flights.
“By next summer, the Edelweiss route network will have increased from 51 to 62 holiday destinations, offering passengers an even greater choice of where to spend their dream holiday,” read an official announcement.
“Summer 2018 will also see an increase of Edelweiss flights to popular holiday destinations, thus offering passengers more flexibility with their holiday planning,” it concluded.
“CORE” CYPRUS MARKET
In a previous interview to Cyprus Traveller, Corporate Communications chief at Edelweiss, Andreas Meier, said: “Cyprus is one of the main markets of Edelweiss Air so we want to invest long-term in the future in this destination and expand our flight schedule, in accordance with demand.”
Flights to the island are operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, and Meier stressed that the airline will continue to offer year-round services for its passengers: “Cyprus is a core market for the Swiss holiday travellers. Therefore, this market has been served by Edelweiss Air for years.”
