Free entry at historical sites and monuments across Cyprus
Guests visiting the island’s many archaeological sites and ancient monuments on April 18 will be granted free entry due to the celebration of the International Day for Monuments and Sites.
The island’s Ministry of Communications and Works announced that the following sites and monuments will open their doors free-of-charge:
– Royal Chapel of Agia Aikaterini, Pyrga
– Choirokoitia Neolithic Settlement, Larnaka
– Kourion, Episkopi
– Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates, Episkopi
– Kolossi Castle, Limassol
– Amathus, Agios Tychonas
– Pafos Mosaics, Pafos
– The ‘Tombs of the Kings’, Pafos
– Palaepaphos, Kouklia
– Agios Yeorgios, Peyia
– Pafos Castle, Pafos
Established by UNESCO in 1983, the International Day for Monuments and Sites aims to raise public awareness about the diversity and vulnerability of the world’s historic monuments and sites and the efforts required to protect and conserve them.
