Cristiano Cabutti has been appointed Marriott’s Area Director Sales and Marketing for Southern Europe.
In his new role, he will oversee managed core brand hotels for Marriott and all luxury brand hotels, including properties managed and franchised by Marriott, in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Malta.
Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol – set to open on March 26, 2018 – is among the properties that will fall under Cabutti’s mandate, as is Almyra, Paphos, which is within the Design Hotels portfolio – both under the Starwood Hotels & Resorts subsidiary.
Cabutti has been the Director of Sales and Marketing at JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa since 2013, overseeing the opening of the brand’s first Italian property.
Cabutti started his career with the Group in 2013 as part of the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa’s opening team and has successfully positioned the award-winning resort as a one-of-a-kind luxury resort in the market.
Prior to joining Marriott, Cabutti was the Group Director of Sales and Marketing for San Domenico Hotels & Golf Resorts in Italy and England, and also held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing at the Forte Village Resort (seven hotels) in Sardinia.
Cabutti has a degree in tourism with a major in hotel activities from G. Magnaghi School in Salsomaggiore Terme, Italy.
He speaks Italian, French and English.
