Future visitors to Agia Napa may well experience a new beachfront after a €6.5 million project began its implementation process.
Agia Napa Municipality is looking to upgrade its beachfront with new pedestrian paths, bicycle paths, a playground, docks for boats, a deck and viewing area, in addition to tennis and beach volley courts, a beach soccer pitch, a skate park and more.
“Our objective is for Ayia Napa’s entire seafront to unite in a unique way so that it can be enjoyed by both our guests and residents,” read an official statement.
The first phase of the project is estimated to cost €3.5 million.
“We thank the President of the Republic [Nicos Anastasiades] and the Interior Minister [Socrates Hasikos], who acknowledged Agia Napa’s importance on the Cyprus economy,” the statement added.
In addition to the new beachfront, Agia Napa is also looking to complete its Makronisos Marina & Resort development by 2018.
